Jeff Kennedy Honored with The University of Kansas Ellsworth Medallion
Congratulations to Martin Pringle Attorney, Jeff Kennedy, for being honored with the 2019 Fred Ellsworth Medallion, the University of Kansas Alumni Association's highest award for volunteer service to KU.
Since 1975, the Association has presented medallions to individuals who have shown unique and significant commitment to KU.
Kennedy completed his undergraduate degree in journalism at KU and went on to Washburn University School of Law. He received the Mildred Clodfelter Alumni Award in 2007 for his local (Wichita) service, serving as president of the local alumni group and as a board member for many years. Additionally, he is a Life Member and President's Club donor and was elected to the national Board of Directors in 2008 and served as the national alumni chair from 2013-2014. Jeff is a long-time member of Jayhawks for Higher Education and has chaired the JHE steering committee since 2014. He was instrumental in expanding the KU School of Medicine in Wichita to a four-year curriculum as chair of the first 4-Wichita Advancement Board and continues to serve on the board's executive committee.
Jeff Kennedy’s practice focuses on oil and gas law, energy law, environmental law, and real estate. Jeff began his legal career as Assistant General Counsel for the Kansas Corporation Commission. There, he handled regulatory matters involving oil and gas and environmental issues. Since joining Martin Pringle in 1986, Jeff has expanded his practice to include a wide variety of oil and gas and natural resource matters, including the development of wind energy and other renewable energy resources, zoning and land-use issues for real property, and commercial litigation focusing on real property. Jeff was the firm's Managing Partner from early 2002 until March 1, 2014.
Jeff will be honored September 5 in conjunction with the fall meeting of the Association's national Board of Directors, and will be introduced at the home football game on September 7.
